Energy savings
We are carefully monitoring energy consumption and successively reducing energy consumption. In 2022, we reduced the amount of energy required to produce 1 unit of a product by 17 percent compared to 2021. We have developed and are monitoring the energy balance of the production plant. We are successively replacing lighting in the factory and offices with energy-efficient lighting. In 2022, we also reduced gas consumption per unit of finished product by 27 percent compared to the previous year.
Minimal carbon footprint
As of 2019, Dr Irena Eris’ manufacturing plant uses renewable energy. In the same year, the company’s carbon footprint was reduced by 68 percent compared to the previous year, thanks to joining the ENERGY NATURALLY program and purchasing electricity from renewable sources. In 2021, 100 percent of the total energy consumed by the company was generated by wind power installations.
Recycling system
All post-production waste is transferred to specialized companies. Selected formats of shipping cardboard boxes are classified as returnable and handed over to our suppliers for reuse. We reuse cartons intended for storage of products included in sets. Thanks to these measures, in 2022 we reduced the amount of paper and cardboard waste per item by 14 percent compared to 2021.
Circular economy
In 2020, we joined the RafCycle program, thanks to which we are part of a circular economy in which waste is transformed into key resources for the economy. We transfer the laminated liner that is label waste to a specialized company, where it is cleaned of silicone and recycled into pulp and paper, which is then used to make graphic paper and paper liners.
