Today’s cosmetology draws on the knowledge from dermatology, biology, and other disciplines. These fields of science overlap and find inspiration in one another. The Center’s research team consists of biologists, molecular biologists, dermatologists, and allergists. They inspire and perfectly complement each other. The results of their work are visible both in top-quality innovative products, and in the context of international scientific achievement. The Center and its scientists are frequent guest speakers at international cosmetology conferences, publish papers in trade journals, and are a showpiece of our country, constantly promoting the development of science and emphasizing its great significance.
A research paper titled “Designing of biodegradable and biocompatible release and delivery systems of selected antioxidants used in cosmetology”, a result of collaboration between the Dr. Irena Eris Center for Science and Research and the Polish Academy of Science in Zabrze, has been accepted for publication inBiomacromolecules, a prestigious scientific journal with an extremely high impact factor of 5.75!
The impact factor (IF) is a measure of scientific journals’ prestige and importance, calculated yearly for journals indexed in the Journal Citation Reports published by Thomson Reuters. In general, if a publication makes a major contribution to science, it is frequently cited by authors of other publications. Therefore, a large number of citations is a good measure of the publication’s value. Supported by the authority of the Institute for Scientific Information (ISI), the impact factor is of great importance both for the indexed scientific journals and for the authors of papers published in those journals.
Collaboration between the Dr. Irena Eris Center for Science and Research and the Department of Pharmaceutics of the GdaĆsk Medical University has resulted in another experimental research paper, “Roxithromycin-loaded lipid nanoparticles for follicular targeting”, accepted for publication in International Journal of Pharmaceutics, a prestigious journal with an impact factor of 3.65. The research conducted by scientists from the Dr. Irena Eris Center concerned ways of transporting active ingredients into deeper skin layers through hair follicles.
These are great achievements of our scientists as in the multitude of experimental papers reviewers only select the ones that make the largest contributions to the development of world science.
